New 1550 nm Laser Printing Setup Up and Running (National Technical University of Athens)

7 June 2021

Few words: For the LEAF-2D project, researchers from the Materials Laser Microprocessing (MLMP) group of the National Technical University of Athens, School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences, Physics Department, are performing first experiments with the new laser printing system consisting of a laser source operating at 1550 nm with nanosecond pulse duration, coupled with a 2D deflection system (galvo scanners) for high-speed scanning of the laser beam. The aim is to pass the laser beam through silicon, a substrate often used in photonics and electronics applications, and transfer the 2D materials used in the project using the Laser Induced Backward Transfer (LIBT) technique.
